Bella Skill Builder - Block 8 Starburst

I can't believe it is September already!
The summer has flown by!

It is time for the latest block in the Bella Skill Builder Sew Along designed by Sherri McConnell of a Quilting Life and hosted by Fat Quarter Shop.
This month's block is Starburst.  It is a fun and easy block to put together and incredibly easy with this handy dandy ruler.

I am pleased with how this quilt is coming together.
I hope you sew along too.  Be sure to share your block on Instagram with
the hashtag #BellaSkillBuilder

Kimono Sleeve Dress in Sew It All Magazine

Good Morning!
It is Another sunny day in Seattle and I am soaking up the last few days of beautiful weather before my boys go back to school.
Not much sewing going on here but I do have a project to share.

Years back I designed my Kimono Sleeve Dress for Stitch Magazine.
Sadly, Stitch is gone but the folks at F & W Media who are the parent company, own Stitch's content and have been re-publishing the content in their other magazines and e-books.

I received word from Sew It All that my Kimono Sleeve Dress was in the latest issue of Sew it All #11.
To be honest, I had forgotten all about that design!
It is an incredibly easy make and perfect for a first time garment sewist.
You can find the pattern and link to purchase the magazine [HERE]

It has an empire seam which can be problematic for the fit on larger chested gals.
Check out this handy little diagram to check for a correct fit and how to modify the pattern.

Happy sewing!

Vintage Block Quilt Along

In 2012 I had an idea to do a quilt-along using vintage quilt block patterns.
It took a little over two years and 12 patterns were done!
You can find all the patterns and tutorials [HERE]

I have all the blocks sewn but have yet to make them into a quilt.
My next project is to decide the sashing for this quilt, which I will share soon!

I decided to put pictures of my unfinished projects on a cute bulletin board (I found the bulletin board at Joann fabrics) so I don't forget which projects I need to finish.
It helps me to have a visual reminder : )

Looks like I will need a few more bulletin boards for all my projects!

Summer is coming to an end so I hope to have time to finish lots of my unfinished projects when my boys are back in school.

I hope you are enjoying these last days of summer!

Happy Sewing!
